CHARACTER NAME: D
FANDOM: Vampire Hunter D
AGE: 5,000+/Unknown
GENDER: Male
HEIGHT: ~6'3
WEIGHT:
APPEARANCE:
{PERSONALITY}
D appears to be complex and not all at the same time. He lives simply and forever on the move, searching for the next town as well as the next job on the seemingly endless Frontier. A vampire hunter by trade, D's reputation for his skills and abilities spread farther and wider with each job completed successfully. His notoriety in part is due to his being a Dunpeal, and the oddity of killing off the race that makes up half of him. However, being a Dunpeal means that D feels he neither belongs to humans nor vampires and garners a lot of animosity for his vampiric heritage. Despite resentment and prejudice, D still fights for the humans and the Frontier settlements he is frequently hired in.
Being a vampire hunter requires a wide range of abilities, all of which D has in spades. Both his human and vampiric natures come into play, allowing him to accomplish some feats that are impossible by both's standards. In his line of work, he must play mercenary, detective and a variety of other roles to complete these duties. While his parents are not clear, it is speculated that his father is the infamous Sacred Ancestor. With this advantage, despite his roots, D is the most formidable opponent and therefore the top choice when it comes to vampire extermination. Superhuman strength, speed, agility, and accuracy are only a few of his abilities, and the feats he accomplishes are just as unbelievable as some of the monsters that roam the Frontier.
On the outside, D is a quiet, beautiful youth. He rarely speaks, though when he does, he makes it count. His words are never wasted and he prefers to think rather than talk, leaving many with silence and their own conclusions. He is rarely comforting or accommodating to others, preferring to make very few connections on his travels. Whether this is truly a product of his traveling and the Frontier's harsh life or simply his way of protecting himself and those around him is unknown. This silence is accompanied by impassive expressions, D very rarely smiling or showing any other emotion. His quiet, cold demeanor and disregard for others' feelings still seem to make him a prime target for the affections of both men and women alike.
Described many times as a beautiful youth, D is repeatedly the target of both gender's desires. Old and young, inhuman or not, he is regarded as an unearthly gorgeous entity. D himself seems to be more or less ignorant or simply uncaring of this fact and rarely acts on the perceived attractions- if not at all. It is unknown if this is because of the aforementioned distance D puts between himself and others or because he simply hasn't found anyone he truly cares for yet.
The only being D seems to have any attachment to is the countenanced carbuncle on his left hand. A smarmy, back-talking demonic face, the carbuncle is responsible for some of D's great feats such as coming back from the dead and his impeccable tracking. The creature is also able to swallow magic, monsters, and other oddities to assist the dunpeal. It seems to have a personality of it's own, and regularly berates D about various things, including his refusal to sleep with any of those who throw themselves at him.
Goals, both short and long term seem to revolve around his want to remove the Nobles from the rest of the Frontier. Despite their dwindling numbers and reclusive nature, they still cause repeated issues for the various villages spotted around the Frontier and are noted as the most vicious enemy in the wastelandic environment. Vampire Hunters of all kinds can be called in to get rid of them, though D is certainly the last resort and the "Deus Ex Machina". He requires a high price for his services, and will work for no less than he demands. Despite this, if you have need of the Vampire Hunter D, your money is the least of your worries.
